Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Chef Tournant is to direct, train, and monitor performance of line cooks. To standardize, maintain, and continuously improve quality of culinary standards to guests satisfaction. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian I The Palazzo Casino Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
: Key Responsibilities
: Review and approve food orders from warehouse for delivery (as required for special order items).
: Troubleshoot unexpected or unusual situations in the kitchens.
: Attend and participate in various meetings and administrative hearings.
: Train and update kitchen employees with regard to all applicable policies and procedures.
: Plan, organize and supervise the daily production of the kitchen.
: Supervise the record keeping of all required documentation set forth by CCCHD guidelines.
: Must be regularly checked by supervisor to ensure proper handling of equipment or tools and proper lifting techniques.
: Rotates food in coolers and freezers. Dates all new products.
: Assists other cooks during peak periods.
: Maintains organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
: Works in an appropriate non:hazardous manner avoiding self: injury and unsafe work methods.
: Performs any other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
: 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States, high school Diploma or equivalent.
: Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form. Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
: Maintain a professional, neat and well:groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.
: Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
: Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
: Minimum of 3 years experience in a high:volume hotel/casino environment is required, excellent knowledge of basic kitchen equipment, ability to read, translate and execute recipes, excellent interpersonal service skills, organization skills to plan time effectively, work without direct supervision is required.
: Must have a High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate and basic reading, writing and mathematical skills. Previous experience in a high volume kitchen in a 4 or 5 star resort or hotel is strongly preferred
