I purchased these used last year from a mobile DJ who had to give up the business, having bought them new less than a year previously. They had been used with subs, so were never driven hard in the sub 120hz range. I have used them (again with a pair of subs) for 6 gigs - change of circumstances means they are now surplus to requirements.
These 750 watt speakers have to be heard to be believed. I've used Mackie SRM450's, EV SXA360's, etc and these blow them all away in terms of sound quality and sheer power .. and as an added bonus they even weigh less! You'll hurt ears long before you hurt these speakers!! Please don't confuse these with the (still excellent) 712-A - these have the larger 2 inch compression horn, which are worth their weight in gold.
The 500 watt 12 inch woofer admirably handles the lower end of the frequency range before crossing over to the star of the show 250 watt 2 inch compression horn. This horn throws the higher frequencies right to the back of every room I've used them in - crisp and clear, without a hint of distortion.
Also included are a pair of zip-up padded covers which fully enclose the speakers. These have opening panels on the side (for the very comfortable handle), the full front, back panel and even a small cover on the bottom for the speaker pole, so you don't even have to remove them from the covers to use them should you so desire. Whilst these are considered waterproof I wouldn't go out boating with them, but they'll definately protect the speakers in the run from the venue to the van in a downpour!
