I have for sale a super rare special edition CF Martin SP000-16TR guitar. This guitar was built in xxxx and was a fine and limited run of Martin 16 series from back in the late '90s to the early '00s. The Special Edition 16 Series were some of the best deals on fully finished, tastefully appointed guitars with superior choice of woods, frequently better appearing than the closest comparable Standard Series models. If you do a quick search, you'll see players raving about the build quality, sound, and overall value of these Special Edition guitars.
This guitar features a 000 body size, solid Sitka Spruce top, solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides and beautiful abalone appointments throughout. The sound is very clear and rich with a nicely pronounced midrange and great natural resonance. Plays beautifully!
Specs:
Body: Double-bound, 000 size body with solid Sitka Spruce top and solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides in natural finish. Rosewood bridge with abalone appointments and a Tusq saddle. Tortoise pickguard and a black/white/abalone rosette.
Neck: Low profile Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fingerboard. Fancy abalone inlays and a 1 11/16" nut. Headstock features sealed Martin tuners and an abalone inlay on the back. 25.4" scale length.
This guitar is also equipped with a Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend pickup (http://www.amazon.com/Fishman-Ellipse-Matrix-Narrow-Undersaddle/dp/B000K112K6) which is an amazing pickup and finely complements this guitar. The pickup alone costs $250 new. The previous (and original) owner had the pickup professionally installed. The guitar is stage-ready as is.
The guitar is in excellent shape overall. It has a few dings and surface scratches, all of which can only be seen under direct lighting and not visible otherwise. Fingerboard and frets have hardly any play wear and tons of life left in them. The neck is nice and straight with very comfortable action and the truss rod functions perfectly. All parts on the guitar are all original and in perfect working condition. I take meticulous care of all my guitars, and I've especially babied this one.
This guitar is a dream to play and rivals other Martins twice the price. It has essentially the exact same specs and materials as the OMJM (and plays just as well and sounds just as good) at half the cost!
